3D  v 360° Photography explained

3D scanning creates of a digital copy of an object or garment, in other words a computer model of an object that exactly replicates the form of the object. We can take any object or garment, scan it and create an accurate computer model that can be used in computer software such as augmented reality. Cyreal produce the equipment used to create accurate 3D digital models of your objects or garments, we also offer a 3D photogrammetry processing and model cleaning service.

Phrenology Bust, Science Museum - London. More Details

This bust was photographed from multiple angles using a Cyreal photogrammetry rig. The images are then analysed by software to create a 3D digital model of the object made up of thousands of polygons. Finally a mosaic texture is applied to the digital model, providing an accurate 3D representation that can be rotated, measured Viwed in AR and VR or even 3D printed.

360° Rotations

360° is simply stop motion photography, multiple views of an object or garment are stitched together to give the illusion of 3D.

We setup the studio in the same way we would for any product or fashion shoot, except the object is placed on a turntable, we simply shoot multiple images as the target rotates. These images are then stitched together using software. No apps or code is required to view the 360° rotation, it is all dealt with in a standard web browser.

360° integrates into all the main shopping carts, and can be simply embedded into web pages.
